Clara Pretus, PhD

Clara obtained her PhD at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where she specialized in Social Neuroscience, and her MSc in Neuroscience at King’s College London. Her research focuses on intergroup conflict, extremism and parochial altruism using neuroimaging techniques. She is currently also the scientific coordinator of the ERC project BeMother, which investigates the structural brain changes that take place during pregnancy to adaptively support the mother-to-infant bond. As a researcher, she has visited the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience in Berlin (2016), the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley (2017) and the Social Identity and Morality Lab at New York University (2020).
